To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many Customs and Excise staff were responsible for processing arms exports for each year since 1979. [29333]

[holding answer 19 June 1995]: Customs' control of arms exports is integrated into general export procedures. It is not possible separately to identify numbers of staff engaged in processing any particular type of export consignments.
