§ Mr. BowisInformation collected centrally relates only to those child abuse investigations that result in an initial stage child protection conference. Figures on children placed on registers—and associated legal status including court orders for those on registers at 31 March—and on those subject to initial stage conferences which did not lead to registration are published annually in "Children and young people on child protection registers, year ending 31 March 19XX, England", copies of which are available in the Library.
