§ Mr. SoamesRAF Welford has been used by the United States Air Force since the second world war as a conventional weapons storage and maintenance area. The RAF took over spare capacity at the site on 1 April for long-term use as a centralised conventional weapons storage facility. At present, no other options are being considered for the future use of RAF Welford.
