HC Deb 06 June 1995 vol 261 cc6-7W
Ms Janet Anderson

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what was the cost to public funds of the case R.v. Field and Ghiassi, at Liverpool Crown court in respect of which the defendants were acquitted on 22 May. [27192]

Mr. John M. Taylor

It is too early to say how much has been spent from public funds in respect of the prosecution and the defence of this case. Costs to the legal aid fund and to the prosecution will not be known until final bills have been submitted. It is not possible to identify separately the cost to the Court Service.
