HC Deb 06 June 1995 vol 261 c81W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the right hon. Member for Selby, as representing the Church Commissioners what considerations underlie his decision on whether to link questions for oral answers; and how many questions he assumes will be answered in the period allocated for reply by him.

Mr. Alison

Questions are linked if they relate to the same subject area. The commissioners are allotted five minutes for oral questions every six weeks when the House is in Session. On average, the first two or three questions are reached. More may be reached if all the questions to the Lord Chancellor's Department, which follow immediately after ours, are answered in less than the allotted time, in which case the House reverts to Church Commissioner's questions.
