HC Deb 19 July 1995 vol 263 c1307W
Mr. Boateng

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what plans he has for the future of the work and the staff at the(a) Summons Production Centre and (b) County Court Bulk Centre in Northampton. [35743]

Mr. John M. Taylor

The question concerns a specific operational matter on which the chief executive of the Court Service is best placed to provide an answer and I have accordingly asked the chief executive to reply direct.

Letter from M. D. Huebner to Mr. Paul Boateng, dated 19 July 1995: The Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department, has asked me to reply to your Question about the future of the Summons Production Centre and the County Court Bulk Centre at Northampton. At present there are no plans affecting the future of the work and the staff at the Summons Production Centre. There are plans to extend the functions covered by the County Court Bulk Centre to provide for users to issue attachment of earnings applications. The centralisation of attachment of earnings payments is also under consideration. The work of both centres is supported by computer systems which have been included in the Local County Court System Private Finance Initiative project because of their link with local county courts.
