To ask the President of the Board of Trade what has been the outcome of the single market complaints raised by his Department's single market compliance unit with the internal market advisory committee. [34932]

Of the 14 cases listed in the answer given by my right hon. Friend the then Minister for Trade on 24 May 1995,Official Report, column 643–44, those concerning Dutch waste water regulations, the testing of stack gas analysers to German standards and Greek soft drink regulations have been resolved. The single market compliance unit is monitoring the outcome in each case. The unit is pressing for the successful resolution of the other cases.
