To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what is his Department's assessment on whether the safety and reliability of Britain's nuclear warheads can be maintained only through a continuation of testing that produces a fission yield. 
(2) what assessment he has made of the implications for the development of new nuclear warheads of the United Kingdom signing a comprehensive test ban treaty which prohibited any further nuclear testing which produced a fission yield; and if he will make a statement.
