To ask the President of the Board of Trade if the review of the National Weights and Measures Laboratory has been completed, and if he will make a statement. [36077]

On 22 July 1994, my predecessor informed the House of his decision that, following a prior options review, the National Weights and Measures Laboratory should remain an executive agency of the DTI. An evaluation report on the performance of the laboratory has now been completed and a revised framework document has been prepared. Copies of these documents, which complete the agency review process, have been placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
