HC Deb 18 July 1995 vol 263 cc1118-9W
Mr. Hume

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what funds he or his agencies have provided to, and what purchases they have made from the British Fluoridation Association. [34395]

Mr. Moss

The question is taken as referring to the British Fluoridation Society. The Department of Health and Social Services has paid an annual grant to the society since 1992–93. The amounts were as follows:

Year Amount £
1992–93 1,795
1993–94 1,850
1994–95 1,924
1995–96 1,982

The Eastern health and social services board made a one-off payment of £150 to the society in January 1995 towards the cost of a conference on water fluoridation. Health and social services boards and the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland purchase information leaflets from the society. Details of such purchases are not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
