§ Mr. Roger EvansThe compensation recovery unit was set up in 1990 to shift the advantage of recovery to the taxpayer who lost out to the insurer under the old scheme. Just over £110 million was recovered by the unit in 1994–95—over £31 million from April to June 1995.
