HC Deb 14 July 1995 vol 263 c848W
Mr. Ian McCartney

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many days were lost in sickness in the 12 months by employees in his Department(a) in total and (b) as a proportion of the number of days worked; and what was the cost of this absence. [34615]

Mr. Burt

The number of working days lost due to sickness in 1994 was 1,117,263–5.37 per cent. of the number of available days. These are the latest figures available and use provisional information. Details of the cost of these absences are not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
