To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department (1) what is the practice of the Lord Chancellor's Department in respect of the number of names provided to the Prime Minister in respect of each senior judicial appointment; [32862]

(2) how many names were offered to the Prime Minister in respect of the appointment of the Lord Chief Justice in 1992. [32863]
