To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list each new car acquired by embassies or posts abroad in the last five years, indicating(a) the name of the embassy or post, (b) the make of the car and (c) the cost. [32975]

The information, in the form requested, is not readily available, and can be provided only at disproportionate cost.

In the last five years the FCO, including ODA, has spent £20,985,391 on the purchase of 1,201 vehicles for 215 overseas posts. These have included more than 20 different makes and types ranging from motor-cycles, cars, minibuses, vans and trucks to meet specific local needs.
