§ Mr. Win GriffithsTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many applicants have been granted leave to apply for judicial review of his decisions in each of the last 10 years; how many have been unsuccessful; and what were the issues under scrutiny in each application. [32524]
§ Mr. Gwilym Jones[holding answer 4 July 1995]: The information which can be given without disproportionate cost is as follows. Records show that, since 1986, there have been 28 cases involving applications for judicial review of the decisions of the Secretary of State for Wales. The applications mostly concern education, local government and the environment. It is not possible to say, without disproportionate cost, how many of these applications were unsuccessful.
