§ Mr. Heathcoat-Amory[holding answer 24 January 1995]: United Kingdom contributions to the European Community budget are paid from the Consolidated Fund. As with all payments from the Consolidated Fund, the National Audit Office already approves all these contributions before they are paid. In addition, the NAO conducts a full annual audit of the Consolidated Fund.
