Mr. Pike

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received regarding the introduction of a national energy efficiency programme and the environmental implication; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Robert B. Jones

I receive many representations on every aspect of energy efficiency, including the numerous energy efficiency initiatives and programmes run by my Department's energy efficiency office.

11995–96 figures are those in the proposed local government finance settlement 1995–96, announced by the Secretary of State on 1 December 1994.

2 Responsibility for most further education was transferred out of local government from 1 April 1993.

3 SSA for police is allocated direct to West Mercia police authority from 1 April 1995. The police authority receives a police SSA of £48.466 million and a total SSA of £49.339 million.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the level of standard spending assessment per head of population for all local authorities for which he has responsibility.
