HC Deb 19 January 1995 vol 252 c588W
Mr. Hanson

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department if he will make it his policy to inform individuals awaiting pension appeal tribunal dates of the likely length of waiting time for each centre at the time of application.

Mr. John M. Taylor

There are no plans at present to introduce such a scheme, which would be of limited value. In practice, the vast majority of appellants choose to have their hearing at the centre closest to where they live, even when they are aware that waiting times might be shorter elsewhere. The minority who are prepared to travel can obtain information about waiting times at other centres on request.
