To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many places in secure accommodation are currently available for persons aged under 16 years in Northumberland; at what location; and what were the figures for the previous five years for which figures are available.

There are five places in secure accommodation approved for use by young people in Northumberland, located at Netherton Park children's home, Morpeth. This figure has not changed in the period requested, but there are plans to provide an additional seven places by mid-1996. The places are not restricted to those aged under 16.
