To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the division of responsibilities and relationship between his departmental Ministers and agencies.

The Secretary of State for the Environment is responsible for six executive agencies: Ordnance Survey; the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre; Security Facilities Executive; Building Research Establishment; the Buying Agency; and the Planning Inspectorate. The division of responsibilities and relationship between the Secretary of State and each of these agencies is set out in their respective framework documents. Copies of these documents are available in the House of Commons Library.
