To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects to be able to receive and respond to communications via electronic mail.

Electronic mail is now part of my Department's internal communication system and links with other Government Departments will shortly become operational. I have no plans at present to use it for other external communications, but my Department is keeping the matter under review.
