§ Mr. ByersTo ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will ask general practioners and health service trusts to contact women who have had breast implants to inform them of the extension of the deadline to register potential claims arising from breast implants with the United States legal authorities; and if her Department will take steps to advertise the new deadline.
§ Mr. SackvilleThe Department of Health is investigating reports that the deadline has been extended to 1 March 1995. When confirmation is received the Department will consider whether any further publicity is needed in addition to that provided from the United States.
