§ Mr. FlynnTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment she has made of the link between paracetamol use and the occurrence of migraine.
§ Mr. SackvilleThe Committee on Safety of Medicines and the Medicines Control Agency continually monitor the safety of all licensed medicines in the United Kingdom, including products that contain paracetamol. Since 1964, there has been one report of migraine as a suspected adverse reaction to paracetamol. An estimated 2,000 million paracetamol tablets are sold in the United Kingdom each year. The alleged link between paracetamol and the occurrence of migraine has not been substantiated.
