§ Ms RuddockTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many young people in the London boroughs of Lewisham, Lambeth, Greenwich and Southwark he expects to be in receipt of youth training guarantees on 1 April.
§ Mr. PaiceI am unable to estimate the number of young people who will be on youth training in these boroughs on 1 April. The current figure at accounting period 10–5 December 1994 to 1 January 1995—shows that 2,643 young people were on YT in the four South Thames training and enterprise council boroughs.
§ Ms RuddockTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many youth training guarantees were made in 1994 to young people in the area covered by South Thames training and enterprise council; how many youth training guarantees had been met by South Thames TEC as at 21 December 1994; and how many youth training guarantees he expects will have been met by 31 March 1995 in the area covered by South Thames TEC.
§ Mr. PaiceSome 2,979 young people covered by the youth training guarantee started on a YT scheme in the South Thames training and enterprise council area between April 1994 and 1 January 1995. As at 31 December 1994, when the careers service returns were made for December, there were no young people for whom the YT guarantee had not been met. I am unable to estimate the position for 31 March 1995.
