The Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Earl Howe)All proposals for legislation by the Council of Ministers are deposited in Parliament together with a range of non-legislative Community documents. Detailed statistics on the number of Community documents deposited in Parliament since the United Kingdom joined the European Community are not held centrally and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
33WAAccording to the Commission's Eleventh Annual Report on Monitoring the Application of Community Law (1993), the UK has implemented 1,060 directives out of a total of 1,148 directives applicable on 31 December 1993. Figures are not available for regulations and decisions, the great majority of which do not require to be transposed into national legislation.
