§ Mr. NelsonLatest estimates of VAT paid by decile of income are given in the Central Statistical Office article "Effects of taxes and benefits upon household income 1993" on the December 1994 edition of "Economic Trends". VAT payments in 1995–96 will depend on what happens to earnings and prices, and on household composition and spending patterns.
