To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department how many new justices of the peace were appointed in Wales during 1994; and what is the political affiliation of the new appointees.

Mr. John M. Taylor
The Lord Chancellor appointed 116 new justices of the peace in Wales during 1994. The political affiliation of these appointees was as follows:
