§ Mr. Michael ForsythMr. Nimmo Smith delivered his report to me on the afternoon of 15 December. I told him that I would advise the House of the completion of his inquiry and the submission of his report. I have now read the report, which is lengthy, and I am placing copies in the House Library today.
Mr. Nimmo Smith's report concludes that Monklands district council has not failed to comply with the requirements of section 7 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. No further action is therefore required by me. I would like to place on record my thanks to him for the speed with which he has conducted his inquiry.
