HC Deb 18 December 1995 vol 268 c936W
Ms Harman

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many self-poisoning episodes with paracetamol occurred in each of the last five years; and how many resulted in death. [6229]

Mr. Bowis

It is not possible to identify non-fatal cases of self-poisoning by the toxic substance involved.

The latest year for which deaths from paracetamol are available is 1992.

The data are published separately for each year in table 10 of "Mortality statistics: injury and poisoning, England and Wales", series DH4, copies of which are available in the Library.
