§ Mr. BattleTo ask the President of the Board of Trade how electricity consumers with pre-payment meters will receive their part of the rebate associated with the flotation of the national grid. [5890]
§ Mr. EggarThe arrangements for distributing the national grid discount to its domestic customers have been determined by the regional electricity companies themselves. However I understand that they intend to make the discount to customers registered with them on 31 December 1995, including those using prepayment meters, as soon as practical during the first quarter of 1996. The precise manner in which the discount will be made will depend on the prepayment method used and the individual company making the discount.
