§ Mr. SoamesThe actual number of staff employed by the MOD police for the years in question, as at 1 August each year, was:
- 1990: 4,766
- 1991: 4,962
- 1992: 5,163
- 1993: 5,026
- 1994: 4,908
- 1995: 4,714.
The overall manpower requirements of the Ministry of Defence are kept under constant review, and we have recently issued for consultation proposals on our future defence police and guarding requirements.
