§ Mr. Robin SquireAt 30 June 1995 there were 2,020 staff in the Department for Education and 4,721 staff in the Employment Department.
The United Kingdom subsistence rates for staff in the former Department for Education and Employment Department are as follows and are still current.

The Department for Education and Employment has no leased cars currently. In the former Employment Department, and currently in the Department for Education and Employment vehicles have been purchased for official use. Staff who travel at least 5,000 miles each year on official business may be allocated an official car, which they are permitted to use for private purposes, in return for a monthly payment.
