Mr. William O'Brien
To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) when he intends to decide on the inspector's report covering the public inquiry into the appeal by the Warmfield Company against the planned refusal to develop the Newland park and Welbeck site in the Normanton constituency;
(2) if he will now make a statement on the inspector's report following the public inquiry held on the Welbeck reclamation and landfill projects and compulsory purchase orders by the Warmfield Company.
§ Sir Paul Beresford
The inspector's report has been received. The Secretary of State's decisions on the Welbeck compulsory purchase orders and the appeal by the Warmfield Company have been deferred at the request of Wakefield council and the company. The Secretary of State currently awaits their confirmation of whether they wish to withdraw the orders and appeal or proceed with them. It is not possible to say when the decision on the appeal will be issued, should the company decide to proceed with it.
