§ Mr.Jim CunninghamTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if authorities will be expected to meet the costs of(a) the new rural business use class 6W initiative and (b)informing unsuccessful applicants of the outcome of their application for planning permission from within their existing budgets. [2644]
§ Sir Paul BeresfordThe present regime under which local planning authorities charge fees for applications for planning permission would apply to applications relating to any new rural business use class. The Government's policy is to progress to full-cost recovery by local planning authorities, including the cost of notifying applicants of planning decisions, and we are close to achieving this target.
§ Mr. ThurnhamTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list for each regional office the number of notices served for each of the last 12 months, for extension of time owing to failures to determine the call in process for planning applications, within the prescribed period of time, together with the average period of time for which such extensions were required.
