§ Mr. Robin SquireOn average, grant-maintained primary schools achieve better results at key stage 1 than LEA primary schools, and grant-maintained comprehensive schools achieve better GCSE results and higher attendance rates than their LEA counterparts. These comparisons remain true even when socio-economic differences in the schools' intakes are discounted.
