§ Mr. ForthThe Department has recently commissioned a survey to look at how local education authorities are discharging their new duty to provide education for pupils out of school by reason of exclusion or otherwise. This survey will also collect figures for permanent exclusions for the academic year 1993–94 and the period September to December 1994. The results should be available within the next month.
