Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer of 20 April,Official Report, column 271, if he will place in the Library full details of the responses to his Department's inquiries into miscarriages of justice, including the nature of the allegation, the nature of the inquiries undertaken, the recommendations made by the investigating officer and the decision made on each case by him. [21038]

police forces from which replies are still awaited in respect of investigations of alleged miscarriages of justice; [21044]

(2) if he will list the 11 police forces from which information in regard of miscarriages of justice was requested; and how many cases were raised with each force. [21035]

1These forces were unable to provide the information requested. Greater Manchester police were able to provide the information in one of the two cases concerned.
