To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many British-owned ships, excluding ferries, are registered under foreign flags; and under which flags they are registered. [19295]

Bradley to Mr. Paul Flynn, dated 25 April 1995: The Secretary of State for Transport has asked me to reply to your Question about the number of foreign flagged ferries operating from ports in the United Kingdom. As of 6 April 1995, there were 42 foreign registered ferries sailing from ports in the UK under the following flags:-

  • Bahamas
  • Belgium
  • Cyprus
  • Denmark
  • Eire
  • Faeroes
  • France
  • Greece
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Sweden
