Mr. Chidgey

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many elected councillors are currently serving on training and enterprise council boards; and what was the number in 1992, 1993 and 1994. [19534]

Mr. Paice

There are currently 14 elected councillors on training and enterprise council boards representing local authorities. There are seven other board members who are councillors, although they are appointed to TEC boards to represent private sector companies.

I am unable to provide the information requested for previous years as this information is not held centrally.
