§ Mr. HowardMy right hon. and noble Friend the Baroness Blatch succeeded my right hon. Friend the Member for Fareham (Sir P. Lloyd) as Home Office green Minister in June 1994.
The Home Office green Minister sponsors the Home Office green housekeeping strategy which sets out the Department's policy on conserving natural resources and reducing environmental pollution. The strategy is supported by action plans incorporating recycling and energy efficiency schemes and a range of other green housekeeping initiatives.
The Home Office green Minister has corresponded with the Secretary of State for the Environment on matters relevant to this remit.
Home Office input to the Environment Bill is confined to criminal policy issues and will be made by the Minister of State, my hon. Friend the Member for Penrith and The Border (Mr. Maclean).
