§ Sir Trevor SkeetTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if United Kingdom interests are safeguarded(a) by embassies and (b) other means in (i) Azerbaijan, (ii) Kazakhstan, (iii) Turkmenistan and (iv) Uzbekistan; and if he will specify the other means used.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggThere are British embassies in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Her Majesty's ambassador in Moscow is also accredited to Turkmenistan. He and his staff visit regularly.
§ Sir Trevor SkeetTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list the embassies the United Kingdom in former territories of the USSR which have become independent.
