asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will ratify the International Labour Organisation Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention 1958; and, if not, why not.

The Government are keeping their position with regard to ratification of this convention under review. Ratification will only proceed when the Government are confident that United Kingdom law, custom and practice is fully compatible with the convention's requirements.
