§ Mr. Llew Smith
To ask the President of the Board of Trade what representation his Department had at the meeting held in Geneva on 19 to 30 September on the implementation of the biological weapons convention.

§ Mr. Heseltine
A special conference of the bacteriological (biological) and toxin weapons convention was held in Geneva on 19–30 September to consider a possible verification regime for the convention. Because of the potential importance of this question for the biotechnology industry, an official of my Department formed part of the United Kingdom delegation which was led by the head of the Untied Kingdom disarmament delegation in Geneva.
