To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what use has been made of his powers under section 6 (8A) of the Valuation and Rating (Scotland) Act 1956; and if he will make a statement

Section 6(8A) of the Valuation and Rating (Scotland) Act 1956 was inserted by the Local Government Finance Act 1988, schedule 12, paragraph 4. The powers have been exercised only once, in the making of the Valuation for Rating (Decapitalisation Rate) (Scotland) Regulations 1990, SI 1990 No. 505.
