To ask the President of the Board of Trade which country is the United Kingdom's main trading partner; and if he will make a statement.

In 1993, the United Kingdom's main trading partner was Germany, with visible imports and exports together worth £36 billion, accounting for 14 per cent. of total United Kingdom trade. The next largest partner was the USA, with United Kingdom trade worth £32 billion.
