Mr. Milburn

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many qualified nursing staff there were by speciality for each region in each of the last five years.

Information on the number of all nursing and midwifery staff employed directly by the national health service in Wales is given in the following table. Reliable figures by specialty are not available centrally. It is not possible to provide separate information on qualified nurses for those on local pay scales.
