§ Mr. Denis MacShaneTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps he is taking to bring trade union law in Hong Kong into line with International Labour Office conventions.
§ Mr. GoodladTrade union law in Hong Kong is already broadly in line with the standards specified in international labour conventions. For example, the five ILCs relevant to trade unions which have been ratified by the United Kingdom have been applied to, and implemented in, Hong Kong, mostly without modification. The Hong Kong Government review trade union law regularly to keep it in line with international standards.
