§ Mr. NorrisUnder the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, co-ordination on publicly maintained local roads, the vast majority, is the responsibility of the local highway authority. For trunk roads and motorways the responsibility rests with the Highways Agency which, through its agents, works to the requirements of the Act. A code of practice has been issued under the Act, giving practical guidance on the co-ordination of street works and works for road purposes and related matters.
