§ Mr. RedwoodIn my speech at the annual general meeting of the Farmers Union of Wales on 11 May, I announced plans to provide the opportunity for all farmers in Wales to receive free agri-environmental advice through a streamlined system, which will be both simple and effective. Farmers will gain access to advice through a single clearing-house which will direct both telephone and written inquiries to an adviser who will be the single point of contact for the farmer. The adviser will provide the farmer with impartial sound advice on all the environmental aspects of farming and the support schemes available. Further details will be announced soon.
