To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is the latest estimate of the proportion of men between the ages of 60 and 65 years in Wales who are gainfully occupied.

According to the autumn 1993 labour force survey there were 25,000 men in Wales aged 60 to 64 who were in employment, representing 35 per cent. of all males aged 60 to 64. The figure includes all men who were 131W doing some paid work in the referene week, those who had a job that they were temporarily away from and those doing unpaid family work for a business that they or a relative owned.
